Mexican Food

Sopes, pork rib tacos on fresh flour tortillas, spit fired pork tacos on fresh corn tortillas, chile quilles (or however you spell this Mexican delight), and varying Mexican condiments. These are the hot foods that I ate while I traveled through Ensanada on my belly last week. Not really, I went with the youth group that I volunteer with, and we played with Mexican Children and build a significant portion of a magnificent pastor's home. Pictures of the children to come... but food first.

Too much pictures for photo info.

Shoot at the Lab

Teri and I went to the Lab in Costa Mesa the other day and had ourselves a little photo shoot. Boy was it fun. Teri is one of my dearest friends and an excellent model. This was my first time working with a professional, and I must say I do care for it. The shots turned out great, and I learned quite a bit. I look forward to many more photo fun times with Tim and Teri!

Clout

I got new glasses today. I really like them, they are a nice blend of nerdyness and awesomeness. And they fit my big head pretty good too. I thought I would take a picture of them.

Downtown Santa Ana

So I've been spending a bunch of time in downtown Santa Ana at the artist district. Live music, a nice coffee shop, and some pretty hip bars make for a nice place to spend some time. I snapped these today before meeting a friend for coffee.

Croisants

So I had a very pleasant Sunday breakfast with my mother a few days ago, it was a great start to an excellent Sunday. Restful and productive. And I had a great chat with my mom. And I made myself a toasted croisant with cream cheese and homemade marmalade. It was so good I snapped a few shots of it.

30 Hr Famine

We held an event at my church this weekend called the 30Hr Famine. The Famine is an awareness event with the youth I volunteer with, we fast for 30Hrs while doing service projects and raising money for World Vision, a global non-profit which does great work around the world. Somewhere about the 28th or 29th hour I lead a group of youths through a Korean market where we would purchase our dinner. I saw these beautiful oxtails and I wanted so badly to make an oxtail soup. This does not go over well with 14 year old girls. None the less I snapped this picture before moving on to buy some BBQ short ribs.

Homemade Marmalade

One of my favorite things in the world is breakfast. A nice simple breakfast, a good cup of coffee, and reading the internet. This is a great way to start the day. So naturally when my mom made this fantastic homemade marmalade, I thought it would be appropriate to put it in whole wheat toast with cream cheese. I was right. It was delicious.
